Vashti Harrison's current work investigates her Caribbean heritage through the juxtaposition of folklore and contemporary imagery. Pleasure Girl gives a glimpse of the famed Nylon Pool off the coast of Tobago, rumored to be a fountain of youth. Vashti is an Aunspaugh Fellow in the art department at UVA for 2010-11 academic year.
