Maria Pithara uses video to choreograph everyday objects and gestures into surreal, psychologically charged vignettes. She received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009 and is currently en route to Santa Fe, NM, where she will be an artist in residence at the Santa Fe Art Institute.
