Kate Gilmore's work parodies the machismo of process and performance art from the 1970's, dressing it up in ballet flats and a skirt. In these three pieces, she takes an ironic approach to the desire for fame and the struggle for love. Kate Gilmore was awarded the Rome Prize in 2007. She lives and works in New York City.
