Kara Crombie is a video artist and photographer who uses animation to explore American culture through both a contemporary and historical lens. Her recent series, Aloof Hills, takes the form of a Civil War soap opera to address culturally specific taboos including interracial relationships and drug use. Kara teaches as Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and was recently named a Pew Fellow in the Arts. More about her work can be found here.
